Hello to all readers! Increasingly difficult to find time to write on the blog, but I am absolutely alive and motivated! Today I would like to mention vibrato, something that anyone who plays the guitar can not be overlooked, as part of its touch. The important thing to understand is that acquiring a beautiful vibrato may take us quite a leap index of satisfaction of our listeners. Do not underestimate this aspect!
Rules for a good vibrato :
- It must not be an uncontrolled spasm, or a nervous reflex. We try to control the main aspects that make it up: speed amplitude and pitch .
- As for the speed , the question is very subjective: it depends on the type of music and guitarists who like to listen to us. Tend, if only to learn, we try to make time vibrato, trying various rhythmic divisions (eighths, triplets and sixteenths, usually). In reality it is not written anywhere that the vibrato should be timed with the music, I think the important thing is that regular . The speed must be constant!
- Amplitude is something very subjective. Jeff Beck has a very narrow vibrato, Paul Gilbert invece molto ampio.
Decide if you pull the string downward or upward, and then allow her to bring you back to the original position.
- not immediately started to vibrate the note! This is the most common problem. Play, leave a bit 'of time (fourth?) And then started to vibrate (this is especially true on long notes, especially in the ballads). Think of the vibrato of a singer!
- Copy, copy, copy : listen to guitarists, singers, bass players ... other tools that provide a vibrato!
Matt
PS how many times I used the word * vibrato * o *vibrare* in questo post? :P
